The Alovė Exposure
The Alovė Exposure is in Kaniūkai village, Nemunaitis district neighbourhood, on the right bank of the Alovė runlet valley. It is quite difficult to find it but it is worth seeing it because the exposure is really impressive: height – 23 m, and in some places it even reaches 40 m. The Alovė Exposure is interesting because one can see decay palaeo crust that formed during Merkinė interglacial period 125 thousand years ago on the middle Pleistocene Moraine that formed 1 million years ago. This section of rock decay is the only one left in such a good condition in Lithuania.
