Lazdijai Hippodrome
The modern racecourse meets all the requirements for international races for trotting horses and thoroughbreds, as well as for competitions, eventing and other equestrian sports. The Hippodrome has a spacious 500-seat grandstand for spectators to watch the events, stables and a horse shelter, ancillary facilities, a 1400-metre running and walking track, and a judges’ tower. The Hippodrome hosts festivals, horse competitions, riding lessons for horse sport enthusiasts, and educational sessions for schoolchildren called “Get to know the horse”, where children can learn about the life of horses, their history, care and the basics of horse riding.
In 2022, the grandstands of the Lazdijai Racecourse named after Queen Elizabeth II.
