Prelomčiškės Mound with settlement

The mound is a legacy of the Jotvingians who lived here in the 13th century. It is one of largest and most impressive Meteliai Regional Park Mound. The mound is situated on the western shore of Lake Dusia.
At the foot of the mound there was a large Jotvingian settlement, and on the mound was a well-fortified wooden castle. From the Prelomčiškė Mound there is a spectacular panorama of Lake Dusia. The mound is visited every year July, the Oninės festival is held every year.
