Harmony and nature – the journey of creating the logo for Druskininkai as the Lithuanian Capital of Culture

According to Vaiva Žagunienė, the head of the Tourism, Communications, and Culture Department of Druskininkai Municipality, the logo for Druskininkai as the 2025 Lithuanian Capital of Culture was created to express the city’s identity, which combines the beauty of nature, cultural heritage, and the unique climate of the resort.

“The logo combines several important elements: the healing mineral springs, which reflect the resort’s history and wellness traditions, as well as the ‘sun trail’ motif, symbolizing the health-promoting climate of Druskininkai. The forested landscape is depicted through green tones, conveying rest and inspiration from nature, while oxygen therapy, as a symbol of fresh air and health, also encourages creativity and well-being. All these elements come together in a harmonious visual language that highlights Druskininkai as a city where art, culture, and relaxation, in a harmonious balance, create a unique experience,” said V. Žagunienė.
